Social Responsibility

Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby organizations consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, employees, vendors, shareholders, communities as well as the environment.

Artech Graphics Ltd. is actively engaged in the continue education and development of the design and printing industries in Hong Kong. We have been making annual donation to the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council Design Education Fund for student scholarships. We also offer internship to design and printing students providing them knowledge in printing technology and practical training on packaging design.

We give unconditional support to the promotion of youth volunteering and are the Heart to Heart Company in Hong Kong.

We care very much of our society and support various charity works. Our staff donated money to the charitable organizations for Sichuan earthquake, the flooding in South-East China and tsunami in South Asia. Some of our staff are also actively taking part in social services. Our managing director Mr. Edward Yeung went to Sichuan to follow up the restore works after the earthquake.

Mr. Edward Yeung has been actively involved in various social activities, especially for the development of the printing industry and design society. He was appointed as the Chairman of Graphics Arts Association of Hong Kong; Subject Specialist of the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation and member of the Printing & Publishing Industry Training Advisory Committee; committee of the HKTDC Design, Marketing and Licensing Services Advisory Committee and the committee of the Design Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing, the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and committee of the Hong Kong CEO Club.

Mr. Yeung has participated in the project “Hong Kong Printing Specifications” since 2003. It was aimed at formulating a set of communicable language applicable to the printing industry and building an effective communication bridge between printing factories and buyers. He has also taken part in the committee of Qualifications Framework of HKSAR Government, responsible for education and accreditation of the printing industry. He has visited several overseas organizations to exchange academic information & update technology development. Organizations visited: USA - the printing associations NAPL and GATF, California State University. China - the Science & Technology Institute for Printing in Beijing. UK - the Oxford University Press.

2012/2013 – committee of the HKTDC Design, Marketing and Licensing Services Advisory Committee, the committee of the Design Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and the committee of the Hong Kong CEO Club.
2011 - Committee member of the VTC - Printing and Publishing Training Board. It is for the education and accreditation of the printing industry.
2010/2011 - Host the seminars on “The trend & development of E-books” which attracted over 400 attendants. The events were organized by VTC.
2010 – Mr. Yeung was the Event Director of the 2010 Excellent Printing Management Awards (EPMA), organized by the Graphic Arts Association of HK. This was the first award to honor those printing companies that have excellent performance in six different areas, including management systems, personnel training, innovation, technology, environmental issues and corporate social responsibility.
At the EPMA awards ceremony, Miss Yvonne Choi Ying-Pik, J.P. Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, was the guest of honour.
2010 – Mentorship for the SME mentorship program.
2009 – Chairman of the Graphic Arts Association of HK.
2009 – Event director for the Techno Summit 2009 forum, organized by Graphic Arts Association of HK.
2008 – Organized “Global vision on the trend of the printing industry“ forum with the Graphic Arts Association of HK.
2003/2006 – Project director of “Hong Kong Printing Specifications”. Developed technical reference manual for sheet-fed offset printing. Funded by the Trade & Industry Department of Hong Kong, SME Development Fund.

2003 – Guest speaker at the “International market strategies for the printing industry” seminar, organized by HKTDC.

Overseas academic and technology exchange meetings

2012 – UK, visited Oxford University Press. They have a collection of century old printing presses and the typesetting room. The university itself is more than 500 years old.
2009 – China, the Science & Technology Institute for Printing.

2007 – USA, NAPL (The National Association for Printing Leadership) for graphic arts industry and PIA/GATF (Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation)
